Tom Gregorio is a Senior Executive Director of Healthcare Systems Innovation at the New Jersey Innovation Institute. He leads the Healthcare Systems iLab, which works with NJIT’s research and development arm and industry partners to establish and build healthcare-based organizations.

He comes to NJII with over 20 years of healthcare experience, most recently as Senior Vice President and COO of HEALTHEC (formerly IGI Health). Tom has been an active part of various senior management teams, including leading a team as the CEO and President of Meadowlands Hospital and Medical Center. He has experience managing hospitals operationally and technically to comply with state and federal regulations, rules of accrediting bodies, and licensing standards; managing labor contracts; and facilitating hospital ownership transitions. Tom gained these skills at various Medical Centers including Meadowlands, Newark Beth Israel, and St. Joseph’s. He holds an M.B.A. in the management of technology from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a B.S. in organizational management from Nyack College.

Tom’s goal is to work with healthcare systems, providers, and insurers to optimize their information systems, streamline delivery, and improve patients’ experience. He also proposes new care models that adapt technologies to human behavior and vice versa, boosting productivity with strategic IT investment. Tom is committed to the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare.
